Description
Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra (DPN) is a harmless skin condition commonly affecting individuals with darker skin. It consists of one or many small, dark circular skin lesions, on the face and upper body. DPN usually starts during adolescence. As you get older, the bumps tend to grow bigger and increase in number.
Cause
The exact cause of DPN is unknown. However, the darker your skin is, the more likely you are to develop it. It also seems to be hereditary in many cases.
Treatment
A small probe about the size of an eyelash is used to remove the Dermatosis Papulosa Nigras, a small burst of energy is expelled and a small stinging sensation is experienced.
