Botulinum toxin type A (Botox), commonly known as anti-wrinkle injections, is a type of wrinkle reduction treatment that has revolutionised our approach to facial aging. Through the dynamic movement of facial muscles, unwanted lines and wrinkles begin to appear on the face and neck.

This anti-aging treatment works by injecting tiny amounts of Botox into specific muscles, causing the muscles to relax. Botox was one of the first anti-aging treatments and it is still the most requested aesthetic treatment due to its effectiveness at keeping lines and wrinkles at bay, resulting in an all round complexion refreshment. Not only does Botox help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, if started early enough, it can also help prevent wrinkles from forming.

Botox is also approved to treat hyperhidrosis. This particular medical condition causes excessive and unpredictable sweating. Hyperhidrosis can lead to many inconveniences in day to day life.

The procedure itself is simple and relatively pain free, with results taking up to two weeks to be effective and typically lasting around 3-4 months for muscle relaxing and 6-12 months when used to treat hyperhidrosis.

Specialist Areas

Nose Slimming: Botox can help reduce the flare of the nostrils to give the appearance of a slimmer nose.

Lip Flip: Botox is placed on the edge of the lip to expose more pink of the lip and to give the result of a fuller smile.

Marionette Lines/Down turned Smile: When Botox is placed in this area, it will help reduce the appearance of lines running from the outer corners of the lips to the outer corners of the chin.

Smokers Lines: Botox is placed in the area where the smokers lines are, close to the pink of the lip (vermillion border). This reduces the dynamic movement of the lip, which make the lines less visible. The injections sometimes also cause a slight eversion of the border of the lip, i.e. the lip can look slightly fuller.

Gummy Smile: Botox can treat a smile that shows more of your gum line than you’d prefer. This treatment goal is to reduce the hyperactive muscle responsible for the gummy smile and to reduce the amount of gum exposure.

Bunny Lines: Botox can effectively relax the muscle and soften the bunny lines, which are the fine lines either side of the nose when you wrinkle it.

Nose Lifting: Botox is injected into the columella just under the nose tip to give a subtle tip lift.

Facial Slimming: Botox is injected into the masseter muscle to help slim the jawline and give the face a more defined appearance. Price: £180.00.

Chin Dimpling: Sometimes referred to as cobblestone chin with an orange peel type appearance. Botox can be used to inject the underlying muscle to give a smoother more even result.

Eye Widening: A small amount of Botox used directly underneath the eye to give the appearance of a more “open” eye.

Foxy Eyes: Botox is injected to give a subtle lift to the lateral aspect of the brow.

Neck Lift (Nefertiti Lift): Botox is injected into the platysma bands in the neck to improve tissue laxity and horizontal rhytides. The injection of Botox into the Platysma muscle of the neck can also help contour the jawline and improve Jowls. Price: £200.00.
